Modra town in Gujarat is famous for its Sun Temple and now solar power plant. Modera, a small village in the state of Gujarat, made history by becoming India’s first solar community. With over 1,300 solar buildings and ground-mounted solar power plants, Modhera is setting an example in promoting the use of renewable energy across the country. The solar system is connected to a battery that provides electricity to the home at night. This project is a collaboration between the central and state governments and the village people.
